2019 Recap & 2020

Happy Holidays Friends!

If we’ve learned anything at Yum Actually these past 12 months, it’s that A LOT can change in a year.

As 2019 draws near to an end, we wanted to recap some of the big moments that have shaped the year for Yum Actually, as well as share what more you can expect from us when that calendar page turns over.

2019 Recap:

1. Finding Stores We’d Call Home

This year we focused on introducing our ice cream to the NYC area and finding a place on the shelves for our beloved product. We have grown our distribution to include 24 stores across Manhattan and Brooklyn. You can see a complete list of our stockists here.

Don’t see your favorite neighborhood grocery store listed? Let us know where you’d like to see Yum Actually in 2020.

2. Ronald McDonald Halloween Boo Bash Partnership

As you may already know, Yum Actually supports Ronald McDonald House’s Share a Night Program, but this year we also got to partner with the charity for their annual Halloween Party. We provided ice cream samples for little monsters, witches and princesses, and their families who were staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

3. New York Food and Wine Festival Premier Vendor

Yum Actually was selected as a premier vendor at the New York Food and Wine Festival, where we served ice cream to hundreds of families in order to raise money for another favorite charity of ours, No Kid Hungry. This charity works to end hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need every day to thrive.

4. This Year’s Favorite Flavor was…

Drumroll please… Butternut squash butterscotch! Who would have thought that butternut squash turned into an ice cream would have mouths all around NYC salivating? Proof that vegetables *are*delicious, whether your little one wants to admit it or not. ;-)

What You Can Expect in 2020:

1. More places to buy Yum Actually

Hello, Connecticut and New Jersey! This year, we’ll be sharing the love of scoops outside of New York, too, by expanding our distribution to our neighbor states to include both CT and NJ stores.

2. Tons of Social Media Giveaways

We have partnerships in the works with small and large brands nationwide, so we’ll be providing lots of giveaways and free ice cream to lucky followers. To get in on the action, make sure you’re following along on our IG @yumactually.

3. More Charities

Enjoy some delicious scoops while supporting amazing causes with us in the New Year. We’ll be continuing our charitable focus and partnerships with both local and national organizations, so be sure to keep an eye out for these events or stay up-to-date with our email newsletter (psst…you’ll get the early inside scoop on new flavors, too).

4. New Flavors

2020 brings TWO new flavors to our line-up: one fruit flavor and one vegetable flavor. Any thoughts on what they might be? Will your favorite fruit make an appearance? Will the veggie flavor rival butternut squash butterscotch? Only time will tell, friends.

And last but not least, we want to thank you all for supporting us and following our journey in 2019 as we launched our healthier kids’ ice cream in NYC.

We can’t wait to see what more 2020 has in store for Yum Actually, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated along the way.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the rest of the year and perhaps ring in the new one with some delicious treats on hand.

Cheers!

Nicole
